Emirates Steel Industries (ESI) is situated in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Set up in 1998, the firm initiated business creation of twisted bars in 2001 with an appraised limit of 750,000 tpy. The completely charged Phase 1 development venture has transformed ESI into a completely incorporated steel plant and added to its creation limit 1.6 million tpy of DRI, 1.4 million tpy of fluid steel, and 1.1 million tpy of distorted bars (620,000 tpy) and wire pole/rebar in curl (480,000 tpy).
Under the Phase 2 extension, ESI will add to its creation limit a further 1.6 million tpy of DRI, 1.4 million tpy of fluid steel; and 1.0 million tpy of overwhelming and gigantic segments. Appointing of the DRP is booked for Q3 2010, while the steel softening plant will be dispatched in Q4 2010. The HSM will be appointed by Q1 2012.
