Keppel Career

The name of the association Keppel was gotten from a British pontoon boss, Captain Henry Keppel, who found a trademark, deepwater harbor (the Keppel Harbor) in Tanjong Pagar in 1848. The harbor was heretofore known as New Harbor until 1900 when the acting administrative pioneer of Singapore, Sir Alexander Swettenham, renamed the harbor to Keppel Harbor in the honor of Captain Henry Keppel when he passed by Singapore in 1900.[2]

In 1968, Temasek Holdings set up Keppel Shipyard when Keppel Harbor was expected control from the British Royal Navy after it pulled over from the island. In the 1970s and 1980s, Keppel Corporation focused on widening inside the association and regionalisation with the essential abroad meander in 1975, Keppel Philippines Shipyard was set up in relationship with Filipino investors,with head working environments in Cebu and Manila.
